Marina di Camerota
Marina di Camerota is located in the Lower Cilento area of ancient human settlement, as attested by the discovery of the so-called “homo camerotensis” dating back to about 540,000 years ago (in the bay of Marina di Camerota there are important prehistoric caves).
Marina di Camerota is called “the pearl of Cilento”: the country boasts beautiful and all different coasts that have made it one of the most famous seaside resorts of Campania, renowned for its enchanting beaches and rich seabed . The Infreschi coast is, in fact, the marine jewel of the Cilento National Park. It is characterized by the presence of bays, high rocky cliffs and marine caves with imaginative shapes and names that are a destination for divers to visit and is crossed by the lush vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub.
Marina di Camerota also boasts a beautiful promenade, a well-equipped marina and an old town full of intriguing alleys and Norman arches. The town enchants above all because it still preserves the structure of the ancient fishing village and keeps its historical, cultural and gastronomic traditions alive.
